After the first two rounds of play at the Arlington Parks course Lee Messinger was in at 21 under 51 with a one-stroke lead over Jeffrey Smith. With no other player within 6 strokes of the lead it looked like it was going to be a two-man battle over the final round. Jeffrey started out slow over the first four holes making two par's one ace and one bogey. Lee, playing behind Jeffrey, made two of the first four holes to increase his lead two three strokes. Jeffrey then got going over the last five holes on the front nine only missing the difficult 8th hole and shooting a four under fourteen. Lee was unable to push his advantage over the last five holes on the front only making two of the five to also shoot a 4 under fourteen on the front. Jeffrey continued his run on the back nine making the first four holes and also making 16 and 18 to shoot a 6 under 12 on the back. When Jeffrey finished Lee was on the 15th hole and knew he needed three of the last four to tie. A lag on the 15th hole made three with three. After making the 16th hole a very good putt on the difficult 17th hole just lipped out. Lee also missed the 18th hole giving Jeffrey his two-stroke margin of victory. Brice Bergesen finished 3rd eight strokes back of Jeffrey. The win gave Jeffrey his fourth and final state spot. Additional spots went to Lee Messinger and Rodney Phillips in match play. Congrats also go to John Tritz for his perfect front nine in the last round.

After two rounds in the amateur division it was also a two man battle as Jason Sheffield held a two stroke lead over Chance Marett with no other player within 6 strokes of the lead. A last round 26 by Chance closed the gap but was not able to give him an outright win and a playoff was on. Chance jumped to an early lead and held a three-stroke lead as the players entered the back nine. Chance was not able to put Jason away but he was also not able to increase his lead and match was still in question until the 16th hole. An ace on the 16th hole for Chance got his lead back to three and two lay-ups gave Chance his third win of the year.  Jason got some consolation in receiving the first available state spot. Additional spots went to Bertz Ferguson and Oniel Mercure in match play competition.
